This was my first visit to West Hills Dermatology Group. I was very impressed. My wife had been to a different dermatologist at a different office so I had something to compare this visit to. On this visit, the P.A. Mojdeh performed the exam and was very thorough. I really appreciated the knowledge and expertise that the P.A. and her assistant demonstrated. From the initial call to set up the appointment, including the visit/exam and the check in/out process with the front office staff and making the next appointment, I was very impressed and comfortable with the visit. To tell you the truth, I almost can’t wait for my next visit to get my full story on what was found. But I’m glad I finally went to a dermatologist and I’m glad that it was at West Hills Dermatology Group. I definitely recommend this place!

I have been treated by PA Kerry multiple times, over the course of several years. She is extremely competent, very knowledgeable and professional. She carefully explains whatever procedure is needed and attends to it efficiently. I have never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for her to see me. This office is mindful and respectful of its patients’ time. In addition, she is very pleasant.

WARNING – BILLING CONCERNS I have been a patient of West Hills Dermatology Group since 2000. Over the past several years, I have become increasingly concerned about their billing practices. Recently, I encountered a billing issue involving my adult child's visit. The office charged an additional $75 copay for a routine suture removal appointment, even though the original procedure was still within the applicable global period and, based on my understanding, the follow up care should have been included in the original procedure fee. When I contacted the billing department, I was told that whenever a patient comes into the office, a copay is collected if the patient's insurance plan requires one. When I questioned whether that policy applied to a routine postoperative follow-up within the global period, I did not receive a clear explanation. I was later told the copay could be refunded, but that the visit would instead be billed directly to me using CPT code 99213. Based on the circumstances of the visit, a routine suture removal with no complications or significant medical decision making, I questioned whether CPT 99213 was appropriate. I did not receive a satisfactory explanation, and the conversation ended without resolving my concerns. I ultimately had to formally dispute the charge, cite CPT and Medicare global period guidance, and send certified correspondence before the matter was addressed. I am sharing this experience so that other patients carefully review their bills and ask questions when charges do not seem consistent with the services provided. Routine postoperative care may be included in the original procedure and not separately billable. Review your explanation of benefits, verify billing codes, and contact your insurance company if you have concerns. It is disappointing to write this review because I have referred friends and family to this practice over the years. However, based on my experience, I believe patients should pay close attention to billing and seek clarification when charges do not appear justified. UPDATE (July 21, 2026): I sent certified letters to West Hills Dermatology Group disputing the $75 charge. West Hills Dermatology Group called me today to confirm they had received my letter(s). During the call, I was informed that the visit had been submitted to my insurance company and that the $75 copay would be waived/refunded. During the same conversation, the office justified the CPT code by stating that the physician had discussed scar removal and that the code was appropriate because the insurance company had processed the claim. For clarity, insurance processing a claim does not automatically mean the code was appropriate or medically necessary. Routine post-operative care may be bundled and not separately billable. I am sharing this update so other patients understand the full timeline and can advocate for themselves if they encounter similar billing issues. Review your bills carefully, check CPT codes and applicable global periods, ask questions when charges do not make sense, and contact your insurance provider if you believe a charge may be incorrect.
